I began my yoga journey ten years ago and was initially attracted to the physicality of the asana. I felt challenged, built up strength, and experienced a freedom in my body that made me feel amazing. Then I had to slow down my practice when I became pregnant with my first daughter. This is when I discovered the mental benefits of yoga and learned that my mat was a safe place to quiet my mind and just be. I began learning about pranayama and with practice I tapped into a sense of inner calm.
Motherhood, graduate school, and career ambitions made it challenging to get to a studio over the next few years, so I took the plunge into Laura Bonnani’s 200-hour yoga teacher training to deepen my at-home practice. This is when I was introduced to meditation and the philosophy of yoga, which changed my life. I found ultimate self-acceptance. I also discovered that I had a passion for sharing yoga for emotional wellness that led me to complete a training in trauma-sensitive yoga. I founded YOGA4YOU because I truly believe every human being should have the opportunity to be lifted through yoga. I’m committed to spreading the joy that yoga has given me as far and wide as possible.
When I’m not on my mat, you can find me laughing with my husband, Andy, learning from my two beautiful daughters, Liv and Tessa, or playing with fur baby, Miss Molly Wags.
